In 2025, the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma is federally recognized with approximately 3,200 enrolled members. Historically, the Pawnee Nation was one of the largest and most prominent Plains tribes, with a population of 10,000 or more in the past. Unique Status: The Pawnee Nation is the only federally recognized reservation in Oklahoma, meaning they own both the top and bottom soil of their tribal lands.
